The JAMF hosts the following initiatives:

• The Jamaal Addison Youth Advancement Program
• The Jamaal Addison Tutoring Program
• The Jamaal Addison School Supplies Assistance Program
• The Jamaal Addison Family Assistance Program

Advancement Program:
With the assistance of volunteers, the JAMF offers youth an eight-week program designed to motivate, teach, and inspire them to develop into citizens of stature that in turn give back to the community.  The goal of the JAMF is to provide youth a solid foundation to promote positive self-development  and lifelong success.

Youth attend an eight-week program that is held on Saturdays. The JAMF services Youth between the ages of 8 through 18.  The program is both interactive and personal. The program flow is as follows.

Positive Thinking:  Youth are taught the basics of positive thinking and creative visualization.  The lessons provide  youth with ways to create happiness, harmony, and success in their lives. This class sets the foundation for the remainder of the sessions.

 Cultural Connections:    Youth are encouraged to connect their past to the future.  Youth will explore their rich cultural hertiage, thereby enhancing their self-worth and self-esteem.  Each individual will learn the concept of  "Each One Teach One," as they learn the responsibility to give back to the community and inspire others. 

• Pursuit of Professions; Careers; Entrepeneurship:  Local professionals and career persons share their experiences with youth through explanation and practical application.  Youth learn self sufficiency, as well as teamwork, as they explore mass opportunities that are availabe to them as future endeavors.

Financial Independence:   Youth are exposed to various facets of economic awareness, as they are encouraged to strive for fnancial independence.  Major economic concepts will be discussed, such as: Importance of saving and various methods; Stocks and Bonds; Tax Shelters and Annunities;etc.  Youth will internalize the responsibility of Sharing the Wealth as they give back to their respective communities.

• Choosing a Healthy Life Style:   Youth are exposed to the various important factors that contribute to maintaining a healthy life style.  These factors include: Exercising for life; Proper nutrition; Positive body image, to protray a sense of confidence; and Sexual awareness, teaching youth to make correct and safe choices.

On to The Next Level:  The final session provides an overview of the previous sessions allowing  youth to share their personal experiences and aspects of growth.  Each individual will prepare a life long plan, complete with set goals and a plan of execution.  Youth will be encouraged to become alumni of the program , and share their new found expertise with the upcoming classes. 

.Awards Ceremony:  As a culminating activity, an awards ceremony will be held for all youth participants, parents, and volunteers.  The youth wll be honored for their achievements and growth.  Each individual will present their projected goals for the future by sharing their life long plan, along with their ideas for reaching back and passing on the baton.


The Jamaal Addison Youth Advancement Program: This program is designed to be fun and interactive for participants,wherby each individual receives mentoring during the eight week program.  Ideally, a mentor will be available to help youth with career goals, school projects, and other areas as needed.   This mentoring service is free to participants.

The Jamaal Addison Tutoring Program: This program is an ongoing service that assists children ages 8 to 18 with their schoolwork. The program is managed by a seasoned educator and is supported by volunteers. Tutoring sessions are conducted; in person, by telephone and/or  via e-mail.  Educational assistance also includes SAT prep classes once a year.  Both the tutoring and SAT prep classes are free to participants, yet they require continuous funding to aquire textbooks and other educational materials.

The Jamaal Addison School Supplies Assistance Program: The purpose of this program is to jumpstart youth off to a successful school year by assisting with the purchase of needed school supplies.  We are always seeking assistance in the purchase of school supplies. You may help in this endeavor by either sending school supplies to the JAMF and/or making a financial donation.

The Jamaal Addison Family Assistance Program: This program works in conjunction with other nonprofit agencies to provide basic support for needy families.  Families are encouraged to contact us if the need for assistance arises.  The JAMF recognizes the importance of assisting the family unit.  Safe and stable environments create youth that excel.
